BUILT at Canal Street Market in NYC was an industrial design competition sponsored by the American Design Club
Custom signage led visitors to the main exhibit space.
Positioned near the entrance, this custom sign acted as the “billboard” of the space - confirming visitors had arrived and directing them toward the main exhibit located at the back of the building. The mural blended typography and visual cues drawn from the internal exhibit system, creating a seamless transition from the front of the space to the back of the space. It functioned as both branding and spatial orientation - acting as the unofficial threshold to the BUILT experience.
CUSTOM FIXTURES
Custom display fixtures and signage were designed and fabricated by AmDC to guide and enhance the viewing experience. The system emphasized structure, utility, and clarity, echoing the ethos of industrial design while fostering inspiration and discovery for attendees.
Alongside the preparation for BUILT, we ran a parallel communications program designed to build awareness and encourage designer participation. Social media played a central role: a series of short interviews were published through Instagram Stories and later archived as Highlights, extending their reach and creating a lasting introduction to participating designers.
